Learning through play

Our nursery environment consists of a variety of workshop areas which are designed to stimulate all areas of children’s learning and development through play. The daily routine offers the children the opportunity to initiate their own play, and use the workshops as they choose. The numbers of workshops available varies depending on their stage of development and what room they are in.

Problem solving and maths are included in all the workshops and incorporated into daily activities. Our staff use mathematical language when they talk to the children, using words such as more/less than, tall/small, heavy/light, full/empty, time, days, slow/quick, old/new.
